Ada Ray Rosebrough, 100, of Sarcoxie, MO departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center.
Ada entered this life on May 10, 1915 in rural Wentworth, Mo to the union of the late Elbert Quinton and Anna Orilla (Carver) Ford. As a child she attended Dry Valley School. On August 1, 1931 she was united in marriage to Shelby Edison Rosebrough at Lamar, MO and together they shared fifty two years until his passing in 1983. Ada retired after working many years for Juvenile Shoe as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sarcoxie. She was involved in many activities in the church as well as the Sarcoxie Senior Center. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, quilting, and painting, all being completed with great perfection. She also liked to dance and looked forward in taking her grandchildren camping and fishing. Ada was well known for her wonderful pies. She loved cooking and sharing meals with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, William Elbert Ford and one sister, Eula Frances Miller.
Ada is survived by her daughter, Helen Wecker of Sarcoxie, two grandchildren; Gerald Wayne Wecker and wife Sharon of Reeds, MO and Jan Michele Harris and husband Scott of Stark City, MO., three grandchildren; Amanda Wecker, Ty Harris and wife Samantha and Austin Harris, many nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosebrough are 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 in the chapel of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with James Yost officiating. Burial to follow in the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those honoring her life as pallbearers will be Ty Harris, Austin Harris, Gerald Wecker, Scott Harris, Charles Barnes and Chester McBride. The family has directed memorial contributions be made to the United Methodist Church of Sarcoxie or Sarcoxie Nursing Center and may be left with the funeral home.
