Della P. Corp, age 86 of Joplin, Mo, passed away on August 7, 2015 at Communities of Wildwood after a lengthy illness. Della was born September 14, 1928 to Clyde Hymer, Sr. and Lorene Glen.
Della married Robert L. Corp on August 17, 1946 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1995. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joyce Corp, in 1947.
Survivors include two sons, David Corp and his wife, Linda, Grove, Oklahoma, Randy Corp and his wife, Dorothy, Joplin; four grandchildren, Melissa Francis, Brad Corp, Michelle Heidlage, Rory Corp; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
Della started work for Fred and Grover's which later became Fred and Red's Cafe at the age of 16. She worked there for over forty years. Della was a fixture in the restaurant and became known to the patrons and the people around town for the homemade pies that she made, both for the establishment and for personal order. She touched the hearts and lives of all who knew her and will be sorely missed.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Randy Corp and Pastor Rob Signs will officiate. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Corp, Rory Corp, Josh Francis, Jack Corp, Jake Francis and Jemal Lethridge. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of Parker Mortuary.
The Corp family would like to thank the women and men of Communities of Wildwood for their compassion, professionalism and the love that they showed to our mom. We would also like to acknowledge the compassionate assistance of Three Rivers Hospice.
