Verna Honeycutt, age 95, formerly of Carthage passed away, Friday August 7, 2015 at the Holiday Resort Nursing Center in Emporia, Kansas. Verna was born June 13, 1920 in East Jordan Michigan to Mr. Vernon Clark and Mrs. Rena Clark (Carol), she was the oldest of 8 children. Verna had been in Carthage for approximately 20 years before moving to Kansas 8 years ago to be with her daughter (Mary). Verna was a minister’s wife and had been by his side for many years in the ministry with her musical talents. They had met at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1942. She then later married Robert Honeycutt on April 14, 1943 also in Chicago Illinois, he preceded her in death on April 2, 1984.
Survivors would include One Daughter Mary Wright, of Emporia Kansas. One Son, Billy Joe Honeycutt of Lawton Oklahoma. One Brother, John Clark, of Cadillac Michigan and One Sister, Roxie Andrus, of Bastrop Texas, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Verna was preceded by one son James Lee Honeycutt on November 12, 2013. She was also preceded in death by Three Brothers and Two Sisters.
Funeral Services will be 2:00p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Bible Baptist Church in Carthage Mo. Visitation will be prior to services from 12:30 to 1:30 also on Wednesday at the church.
