David L. Ward, 67, Carthage, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident. David Lee Ward was born September 9, 1947 in Carthage; a son of the late William A. Ward and Nadine L. Hodge Ward. He attended Carthage Public Schools. He was enlisted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. David was a life-long resident of Carthage and was the owner/operator of Ward's Auto Trim, Carthage, which will remain open under the management of his son, D. Justin Ward.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Lambeth and her husband Doug, Carthage and a son, D. Justin Ward, Carthage; three sisters, Mary Williams and the late Don Williams, Carthage, Carmen Ford, Carthage and Elizabeth Clark and Brad Clark, Joplin; one brother, Gene Ward and his wife Clara, Carthage. Five grandchildren, Skyleigh Ward, Joseph Ward, Zach Ward, Creed Lambeth and Gabe Lambeth. Ronnie Mitchell and his wife Joy; Sara Carter and her husband Ron, mother of Jennifer and Justin; Angela Reed Ward, Granby, MO; Rhonda Ford, Mt Vernon, MO; Travis Jackson & Chandra Burns, Taris Jackson, True Jackson and Caliah Jackson, Carthage, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, William Wayne Ward.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Minister David Cook will officiate.
