Herrell Richard Martin, age 90, of Carl Junction passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015. Herrell was born on January 20, 1925 in Jasper County to Earl Martin and Viola (Smith) Martin.
Herrell enlisted in the United States Army in the 45th Division from January 1944 to March 11, 1946. He was wounded in the service and received the Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters Medal.
He married Lorietta Howard of Asbury on March 25, 1946. Together they have one son Richard Martin of Carl Junction. Mr.Herrell Martin was preceded in death by Mother, Father, Brother and Wife.
Herrell enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dog Angel.
Survivors include his son Richard Martin and wife Jo of Carl Junction.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday with the visitation starting at 10 AM at the Simpson Funeral Home of Webb City with burial at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery northwest of Webb City.
