Neva Prince

Neva Margaret (Weston) Prince, age 99, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, and friend passed away Thursday, August 6th, at the Golden Living Center-Westwood in Clinton, Missouri after a long illness.

Neva was born June 15th, 1916, in Joplin, Missouri to her pre-deceased parents Jess and Mildred (Hauser) Weston. She resided all of her life in Joplin except for the last several years which she lived in Clinton. She was a long time employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Neva was a member of the Eastern Star and the Joplin Women’s Club. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Joplin and later the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton where she served as Deacon.

She was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker which was her great passion later in life. She was active in the Windsor Missouri Tops and looked forward to their weekly meetings. She was always available as a bridge partner on the spur of the moment.

Neva was a great friend and valued counselor to her many friends and family members. She dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Always a quick wit she had a passion for living life that was contagious to all she met.

Neva was preceded in death by her husband Russell Boyd (Bo) Prince and her father and mother.

Survivors include her brother Don Weston of Ft. Worth, Texas, daughter Judith Gail Lewman of Dayton, Ohio, son John Jeb Prince and wife Jan of Branson, Missouri. Grandchildren, Kevin Stewart Lewman and wife Kathy of St. Louis, Kurt Neil Lewman and Nancy of Belleville, Ill, Julie Paul and husband Joe of Dayton, Ohio, Tracy R. Prince of Mission, KS., Jenny L. Prince of Port Washington, WI, Great-Grandchildren Lt. Kevin Michael Lewman and wife Ariana, U.S. Navy, Italy, Neil Lewman of St. Louis and Kyle Lewman of Belleville, Ill, Daniel Paul and wife Marcy of Muncie, In, Jeffrey and Matthew Paul of Dayton, Ohio.

Family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 14th at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Internment and memorial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, in Webb City, Missouri.
