Clarence Tobias Schorzman, age 93, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away early Saturday morning, August 1, 2015, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Clarence was born September 13, 1921 to Dominick and Lydia (Orth) Schorzman at St. Francis, Kansas. Clarence served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. On October 26, 1947 he married Dorlyne Viola Shaul at St. Francis. He had worked as an Electric Lineman and for Rural Water Maintenance. He was a member of Lamar First Christian Church, where he was baptized in 1950 and served many years as a deacon and an elder. Clarence was a faithful member of Lamar VFW Post #3691.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dorlyne; a son Roger Schorzman of Hollister, Missouri; two daughters, Carol Buffington and Brenda (Justen) Cox both of Lamar; four grandchildren, Ryan Godfrey, Jeffrey Godfrey, Vanessa Manes, and Garrett Cox; four great grandchildren, Olivia, Tobias, and Eden, and Samantha.
Preceding him in death were his parents; nine brothers and five sisters.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
Contributions are suggested to Lamar First Christian Church or Barton County Senior Center in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
