Jerry Dale Irish, age 63 of Joplin, passed away at his home on Monday, August 10, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
Born January 14, 1952 in Wheatland, MO, he was the son of the late Warren Zawn Irish and Beulah Gertrude (Judy) Powers Irish and lived in the area his lifetime. Jerry worked in the family business, Tick-O-Time Jewelry, as a watchmaker, jeweler and clock repairman most of his working life. A truly phenomenal artist, he received his degree in Art from Labette Community College. He was also a talented musician, playing several instruments.
Survivors include three children, Jennifer, Casey Irish of Girard, KS and Cayti Irish of Carthage; several grandchildren; sisters, Janice Compton of Smithville, MO, Karen Irish of Joplin, Diana Zaccarello and husband Joe of Carterville; a brother, Scott Irish and wife Jodii of Olathe, KS; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Shawn Zaccarello; and his beloved dog, Malachi.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. A memorial gathering and interment of ashes will be in Oakwood Cemetery, southwest of Neosho, at a later date.
