Lorraine Mae Wagoner, age 85, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Monday August 24, 2015, peacefully.
Lorraine was born on July 19, 1930, in Colorado Springs, Co., the daughter of the late Richard and Irene (Maul) Otto. She married Marvin Dean Carter on June 28, 1948, together they had four children. She worked as a caregiver of the elderly for many years. Even after retirement she continued to care for friends and family members. She was a strong supporter of the Humane Society and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, music, embroidery, and caring for her humming birds and dog (Lucky).
She married Gerald Wagoner on November 21, 1988. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1997. She is survived by two sons, Gary Carter and wife, Kristi, Webb City, Mo., and Thomas Carter, Ulysses, Ks.; two daughters Joyce Olds and husband Darren, Conroe, Tx., and Carolyn Rusch and husband Tom, Kerrville, Tx.; three brothers, Leroy Maul, Alamosa, Co., Lenard Maul, Parker, Co., and Lyle Maul, Grand Jct., Co.; three sisters, Helen Jazdzyk, and Janice Darnell, both of Grand Jct., Co., and Leora Arndt, , Tx.; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
