Norma Jane Young, age 80, formerly of Kimberling City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Joplin Health and Rehab in Joplin, Missouri.
Norma was born July 25, 1935 in Hillsboro, Kansas to the late Fred Seitz and Martha Ollek Seitz. She graduated from Lehigh Schools and later married her first husband, Stephen Jost in Hillsboro, Kansas in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1980. Together, they built, owned and operated Holiday Hide-Away Resort and Coach Light Village, both on Table Rock Lake. Later she was a secretary for the Reeds Spring Elementary School. In 1984, Norma married Dale Young. He preceded her in death in 1998. Norma was an active member of the Shepherd of The Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City. Most importantly, Norma was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by many.
Norma was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Pool and a brother, LeRoy Seitz.
Surviving Norma are two daughters, Sandra Peterson and husband, Kerry of Joplin, Sheri Williams and partner, Steve Blalock of Ozark, Mo.; son, Raymond Jost and wife, Lori of Labadie, Mo.; step daughter, Robin Barr of Kimbering City; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Fran McRae of Topeka, Ks. and Doris Stubby of Newton, Kansas.
A celebration of life is planned for September 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
