(From Ozark Funeral Home)
Rachael Nicole Staib, 16, of Goodman, Missouri, entered the loving arms of Jesus on Friday afternoon, August 21, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Rachael began her earthly journey on October 10, 1998, in Rogers, Arkansas, the eldest of four children born to the union of David Andrew and Janelle Lyn (Cullum) Staib. She and her family resided in eastern McDonald County before moving to the rural Goodman area in 2007. Rachael had just started her Senior year at McDonald County High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Show Choir and Editor of the Yearbook and was planning to graduate with honors. She loved being outdoors, either hunting with her Dad or spending time on the river. For the last two summers she has been employed by Elk River Floats. She enjoyed singing, hanging out with friends, shopping, and her newfound hobby of skateboarding. She was a beautiful child who had a passion for singing and performing and planned to pursue it further after graduation. An amateur self portrait photographer, she had 28,000 photos on her phone-always trying to capture the perfect selfie. A feisty girl, she had a unique sense of style and was never afraid to stand out in a crowd. She loved her ever changing hairstyles and her Instagram followers couldn't wait to see her next post. Rachael loved animals and once rescued a baby opossum, taking it to school and church. She loved her brother and sisters and they will miss her very much. Rachael had accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was a member of the Splitlog Baptist Church and Splitlog Youth.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandfather, Fred Butterfield and paternal great grandfather, Cecil Epling.
Rachael is survived by her loving parents, David and Janelle Staib of the home; three siblings, Natalie, Hailey and Nathaniel Staib all of the home; maternal grandparents, Jack and Jan Cullum of Rogers, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Robert Staib of Goodman, Missouri and Shirley Brown and husband, Rick, of Anderson, Missouri; maternal great grandmother, Harriett Butterfield of southern California; paternal great grandmother, Juanita Epling of Washburn, Missouri; as well as a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; classmates and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at Splitlog Baptist Church with Bro. Shan Cobb officiating. Memorials are being directed to the Splitlog Baptist Church or the McDonald County High School Choir Booster Club and contributions may be left at the funeral home. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Noel, Missouri.
