Robert Charles (Bob) Stringer, age 51 of Broken Arrow, OK, formerly of Joplin, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on I40 near Muldrow, OK. He was doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle.
Born September 4, 1963 in Joplin, he attended Joplin schools and graduated in 1981 from Southside High School in Fort Smith, AR. He received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from M.S.S.U. in Joplin. While in Fort Smith, he worked for Arkansas Oklahoma Gas and Hiram Walker. He moved to the Tulsa area in 2011, where he worked for Spirit and Triumph Aerosystems and the Hilton Garden Inn, where he became known as "Hotel Bob". Bob loved being on the Food Team at his employers and was known for his Barbeque. He was also an avid pool player.
On September 23, 2012 he married Sherry Lynn Houston at San Gabriel, CA. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Becky Breeann Stringer of Joplin; his parents, Bob and Mary Stringer of Joplin; a sister, Julie Stringer and husband Gary Politte of Tulsa; and one grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents, Charles and Lillian Mae West.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Webb City with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Charlie Boyd, Greg and Kerry West, Rob Anderson, Steven Avila, Perry Henson, Rick Thorman and Terry Sutterfield serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary.
