Betty Owens

Betty Ann Owens, 90, of Noel, Missouri, departed this life on Friday evening, August 21, 2015, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.

Betty entered this life on June 18, 1925, in Neodesha, Kansas, born to the union of the late Park and Ruth (Brown) Hall. She was raised and graduated high school in Neodesha. She resided in the state of California before moving to Noel, Missouri in 1964 and later to Joplin, Missouri in 1978. She retired from Freeman Hospital in Joplin, in 1987 with twenty-five years of loyal service as an RN. After retiring, she traveled the world with her daughter, Margaret and Margaret's late husband Robert Radtke. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, craft projects, baking and caring for her beloved dogs. Betty was a devoted believer of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karla Mathews; two grandchildren, Mark Kenneth Owens and Daniel Ray Owens, Jr.; three sisters,
Margaret, Barbara and Ruth; and two brothers, Frank and Max.

Betty is survived by her twelve children, Karen Sergeant of the state of Oregon, Margaret Radtke of Noel, Missouri, David Mitchell of Springfield, Missouri, Janet Hayes of Antioch, California, Richard Owens of Atchison, Kansas, Linda Genn of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, Lois White Eagle of Noel, Missouri, Thelma Corriveau of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary Schmitt of Duenweg, Missouri, Daniel Owens of Noel, Missouri, Dale Owens of Jay, Oklahoma and Dennis Owens of Goodman, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Billy Hall of Little Rock, Arkansas; two sisters, Judy Boyd of Cabool, Missouri and Susie Solden of Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Owens are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Jason White Eagle officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Daniel Owens, Dale Owens, Dennis Owens, David Mitchell, Jason White Eagle and Rick Genn. David Greenup and Parker Owens will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
