Margie Lambeth

(From Ulmer Funeral Home)

Margie Louise Roux Lambeth passed away gracefully and surrounded by family on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Maple Tree Terrace in Carthage, Missouri.

She was born October 16, 1924 in Carthage, Missouri, the youngest child and only daughter of Gussie and Iva (Hackler) Roux. Margie graduated from Carthage High School. Margie’s mother was a music teacher and instilled a love of music and dance. Because of this love, Margie taught dance lessons and shared the love of the arts with her children and grandchildren.

She married Noel D. Lambeth on December 5, 1941; she was an outstanding wife and mother. Noel preceded Margie in death on September 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Max Roux and Frank Roux. Margie was a wonderfully kind and gracious woman. She loved her family and friends very deeply and faithfully. She had a career for many years at many locations including 15 years at Smith Brothers and several years at Leggett and Platt until she and Noel retired. She and her daughter Susie collaborated on several award winning quilts. She enjoyed fishing and camping and was tech savvy long before modern computers. Margie leaves behind a wonderful legacy of family and friendships. She will be missed by 3 children, a daughter, Janice Maples and her husband, Bill, of Neosho, a son, Professor David N. Lambeth and wife, Virginia, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and daughter, Susie Andersen and husband Mark of Cos Cob, Connecticut; a sister-in-law and best friend of over 70 years, Lillian Hornback; 6 grandchildren, Marcy Lee and husband, Chad of Mission Viejo, California, John Maples of Morrow, Ohio, Dawn Lambeth and husband Marc Caparone of Paso Robles, California, Joel Lambeth, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Brian Andersen and wife, Emily of Boulder, Colorado and Daniel Andersen of Cos Cob, Connecticut; 7 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Tate and Noelle Lee, Rachel Maples, James and Emmaline Caparone and Kaia Andersen as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
