Denny Ray Gates, age 72, of Joplin, MO passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015.
Denny was born April 7, 1943 in Joplin and was a lifetime area resident. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Gates, and a brother, Gary Gates.
Denny is survived by his wife of 52 years, May Gates, one son, Johnny Gates, Granby, Mo., two daughters, Tina Perry and husband Bradley, Joplin, and Lisa Chambers and husband Jerry, Chelsea, OK, two brothers, Billy Gates and wife Judy, Joplin, and Jay-Dee Gates and wife Susan, Diamond, MO, one sister, Judy Gates Friend, Joplin, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Denny’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15th at the Highway 59 Café, 1630 Hwy 59 in Diamond, Mo.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
