Janet Winchester

Janet D. Winchester, Neosho, died January 31, 2016 at Medicalodge in Neosho at the age of 79. 

Janet was born Oct. 29, 1936 in Joplin, the daughter of Oral and Mary (Avery) Fritchey and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1955 and had worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for multiple businesses, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. 

Janet married Jim Winchester on Feb. 14, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2004. She is survived by one son, Rusty Winchester and wife, Lori of Anderson; one brother, Dave Fritchey and wife, Janice of Goodman; and a sister, Shirley Strait and husband, Bob of Granby; grandchildren, Jake Winchester, Sherissa Wallace and Joey Martin and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
