Joyce Fitzgerald

Joyce Fitzgerald, 86, Stella, died January 29, 2016 at her home, following an illness. 

She was born May 16, 1929 in Brownfield, Texas, the daughter of Bob and Allie (Maxwell) Harred. Joyce had been a resident of the Stella-Ritchey area for the last 50 years after moving from Texas. She was a homemaker and a farmer and loved sewing, quilting, doing crafts, gardening and working on her farm. She was a member of the Stella Senior Citizen Center, which she helped organize in the early 1990s and served as past president. She was also a member of the Church of Christ but attended Living Word Ministry. 

Joyce married Olga Odell Fitzgerald on February 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 20, 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Maxine Vanslyke and husband, Rex of Bonham, TX; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Fitzgerald of Stella, MO; son-in-law, Mike Gasche of Goodman, MO; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mackey Fitzgerald; two daughters, Bonita Gasche and Anita Norman; granddaughter, Tammy Fitzgerald and grandson, Westley Heilig and a dear friend, Jerry VanDyke of Grove,OK.
