(From Ferry Funeral Home)Connie Joan Goodwin, 63, Deerfield, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Connie was born February 4, 1957 in El Dorado Springs, MO to Loren C. and Henrietta I. (Gilpin) Wood.
She was united in marriage to Johnnie A. Goodwin on July 19, 1975 in El Dorado Springs and he survives of the home.
Connie grew up in El Dorado Springs and graduated from high school there in 1975. Connie worked for a number of years as a teacher, having taught at Alliance Christian Academy in Elk River, MN, Faith Christian Academy in Ft. Scott, KS, and later was a Para for the Ft. Scott School District. She and Johnnie lived in Minnesota from 1977 – 1991, returning to Deerfield in 1991.
Connie grew up in El Dorado Springs and graduated from high school there in 1975. Connie worked for a number of years as a teacher, having taught at Alliance Christian Academy in Elk River, MN, Faith Christian Academy in Ft. Scott, KS, and later was a Para for the Ft. Scott School District. She and Johnnie lived in Minnesota from 1977 – 1991, returning to Deerfield in 1991.
Connie attended Free Will Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs. She loved playing the piano, quilting, and gardening. She was currently working for First Source Health Insurance as a Health Insurance Claims Adjustor.
Survivors include her husband Johnnie of the home, six children, Tosha Potts (David) of Wichita, KS, Keilah Forgey (Terry) of Deerfield, Aaron Enoch Goodwin, Deerfield, Joshua Goodwin, Deerfield, Ashley Gronewaller (Jeff), Guthrie, OK, Elizabeth Todd (Saul), Watertown, NY; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brothers, Steve Wood (Peggy), Joplin, MO, Michael Wood, El Dorado Springs, William Wood, El Dorado Springs; sister, Lori (Wood) Brooks (Timothy), Lamar, MO; two sisters-in-law, Molly Goodwin-Osborn, Independence, MO, Becky Bruce, Nevada; three brothers-in-law, Richard Goodwin (Debbie), Nevada, Paul Goodwin, Nevada, and David Goodwin, Rich Hill; mother-in-law, Marguerite Goodwin, Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd “Smiley” Wood and Terry “Pete” Wood; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Wood and Patricia Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Brandon Vaughan and Richard Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Coal Hill, Cedar County, MO.
Memorials are suggested in her memory to “Teen Challenge” c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
