Cindy Duvall

(From Parker Mortuary)

Cynthia Ena Duvall, 77, of Joplin, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021.

Cindy was born November 19, 1943 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma to the late Ed and Matilda (Thonart) Coppinger.

Following high school, Cindy earned her license in cosmetology and later worked as a supervisor in housekeeping at the former St. John’s Hospital in Joplin for 17 years, retiring in 2006. On July 25, 1958 she was united in marriage to Thomas Duvall and together they had six children.

Tom taught Cindy how to cook and her love for being in the kitchen grew from there. She made the world’s best meatloaf, potato salad, deviled eggs and blackberry cobbler. She also worked as a cook at the school her kids attended. Cindy could do just about anything her kids needed her to do, including sewing their clothes. She loved flowers, especially roses, and also loved to spend time outdoors fishing and camping.

Cindy enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, whether it be at family dinners or sitting around the table in an intense game of Monopoly. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all the time she was able to spend with them. She was most proud of helping them learn to read and write. Cindy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Tom; her children, Odee Duvall, Terry Duvall, Marquita Duvall, Evelyn Duvall (Kay Cosby), Helen Maddox (Randy Wileman), and Susan Duvall; 14 grandchildren, Christina, Robert, Angie, Amber, Brance, Payten, Tanna, Courtney, Michael, Tyler, Makaila, Alyssa, and Jess; 10 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Sidney, Walker, Kaleb, Mason, Vincent, Izzauh, Lanie, Grady, and Asher; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the chapel of Parker Mortuary. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

For everyone’s safety the family is asking that all who attend wear a mask.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
