Cynthia Strong

Cynthia Renee Strong, age 63, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Strong, daughter of Glen and Wilda (Taggs) Scott, was born on September 20, 1957, in Storm Lake, Iowa. 

Following graduating from Purdy High School in 1976, she graduated from Drury University as a registered nurse. 










Cynthia enjoyed gardening, bird watching, music, and riding horses. Her passion in life was that of a nurse and had worked for Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett for the last eighteen years doing various jobs from becoming a leader as a day shift charge nurse, a teacher to her students and staff, as well as filling many other roles such as staff development coordinator, certified nurse assistant teacher, RN charge nurse, program manager, on call administration, as well as many other roles not mentioned. 

Cynthia had a heart of gold, was always there for her patients by comforting them with her beautiful singing voice, and made many lasting friendships. She loved her family dearly and attended Longview Methodist Church in Purdy.

Survivors include two daughters, Mara Christensen and her husband Travis, of Neosho, and Alexandra Hall and her husband Adrian, of Billings; one granddaughter, Tegan Hall; her mother, Wilda Scott, of Purdy; one brother, Glen Scott, Jr., of Purdy; two sisters, Mary Fenske and her husband Michael, and Marguerite Lowe and her husband Craig, all of Purdy; three nephews, Glen Scott, Nathan Scott, and Nicholas Mercer; and one niece, Darcy Scott.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Glen W. Scott, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Mark Moller officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
