Jerry Morey

Jerry Neal Morey, 80, of Joplin, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

Jerry was born January 30, 1941 in Galena, Kansas to the late Robert and Ruby (Stansberry) Morey. Jerry attended school in Carl Junction and later enlisted in the United States Army to proudly serve his country.

Jerry married Patricia Griffin on March 12, 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they shared 56 precious years together before his passing.

Jerry worked for 39 years at Missouri Steel and 14 years for the Joplin School District before retiring. His presence will be missed, but never forgotten.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Pat; their children, Troy Morey, Shannon Morey (Christina), Aimee Morey and Derek Lincoln; grandchildren, Levi, Trevor, Tucker, Kinsey, Ben; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Morey.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin with John Newberry officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
