(From Parker Mortuary)Mario Colgrove Estal, 49, of Joplin, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Mario was born October 23, 1971 on Guam to Linell (Colgrove) Estal and Romeo Estal. Mario moved with his mother in 1978 to Joplin, Missouri.
During high school Mario was very involved with the ROTC program from his freshman to senior year. He excelled in the ROTC program and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a 1990 graduate of Joplin High School.
Mario was currently employed by Downstream Casino as a Marketplace Cook. Several years ago, he was the Employee of the Year.
Mario had a smile that could light up the room. His laugh was infectious, and he never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor, something that he shared with his mother. He was funny, sarcastic, and just plain silly at times. Mario was a very thoughtful individual, and always there for those he loved. Family was very important to Mario, and he cherished the time spent and memories created with his family and friends. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Mario was preceded in death by his step-father, Jack Patchin; uncle, Larry Colgrove; and aunts, Linda Peterman and Roberta Ketterling.
Mario is lovingly survived by his mother, Linell Patchin; step-sister, Laura Nicole Head; aunt, Carol Jung; together with several cousins and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Parker Mortuary Chapel with Alan McCamey officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 at the mortuary.
