Georgia Beaver

Georgia Luvona Beaver, 91, of Diamond, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at home with family by her side.

Luvona was born November 20, 1929, in Diamond, Missouri, to the late Onal Hobart and Cathryn Allatie (Carr) Kimbrough. She was raised on a dairy farm outside of Diamond, where hard work and family were her cornerstone. She developed unmatchable strength and character, the foundation upon which she built a home, a family, and a purposeful life.

 

Luvona married James Eugene Beaver of Stella, Missouri, on June 16, 1950. She referred to her husband as her best friend, and shoulder-to-shoulder they stood through hardship and adversity. Their love endured 69 precious years before James passed away on May 20, 2020. Together they had four beloved children, Janis, Janette, Douglas, and Janiece.

On any given day you could find Luvona milking cows, pulling a calf, working in the field, cat napping against the pickup, cooking, or telling the day’s stories to her friends and family around the table. Her days began around 3:00 a.m., whether she was going out for the morning milking or heading to the bakery to get doughnuts out on time. She always had a meal on the table for family, friends, or any stranger who may happen in the door – everyone was welcome to ‘pull up a seat’ and eat a meal, and a delicious one at that. She lived a life of service and showed her love through acts of kindness, often times disguised as biscuits and gravy.

Her legacy is her children and grandchildren – whom she taught independence, strength, diligence, loyalty, kindness, forgiveness, and most of all, love. To honor her, put in a hard day’s work, give it your all, eat a warm meal, and love your family – this is all she would ever ask of anyone.

In addition to her parents, Luvona was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Kimbrough and Glenn Kimbrough; three sisters, Dorothy Donahoe, Janette Greninger, and June Patrick; and three grandchildren, Brian Crowder, Matthew Siebert and Michael Siebert, Jr.

Luvona is lovingly remembered and survived by her children, Janis J. Crowder, Janette Coneby and husband Gary of Diamond, Douglas E. Beaver and wife Nina of Diamond, and Janiece Siebert and husband Mike of Carthage; sister Joyce McVay of Diamond; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Diamond with Pastor Keith Wofford officiating. Interment will follow at Diamond Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m.at First Baptist Church of Diamond.
