Danny Woolever

(From Parker Mortuary)

Danny Michael Woolever, age 76, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

Danny was born January 28, 1945 in Joplin, son of the late Daniel Alvin Woolever and Eva Jane (Hamilton) Woolever. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1963, where he excelled in sports, especially football. He then graduated from Joplin Junior College.

He served his country in the National Guard for several years. He worked in Commercial Glass for over 25 years as the manager of Harding Glass.

Danny had many hobbies and was devoted to all of them. He enjoyed any sport, and he always excelled. He was known for his athletic abilities during high school football, and that carried through his later years when he enjoyed softball or winning golf tournaments. He was also an avid fisherman, being a member of the Southwest Missouri Bass Club, and he loved spending time on Table Rock Lake. Softball was his passion at one point, and he played for many years, including with the National Over 40 league.

He was a member of the National Street Rod Association, the Goodguys, and the 1932 Deuce Doins. He loved spending time going to car shows to show his cars, and spending time with the friends he met. He also loved taking trips on his Harley all over the country. He had a heart for helping the youth, whether it was personally helping, or the charity bike rides to raise money for the kids. He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Thomason and her husband Leroy.

Survivors include his wife, Karen E. (Neal) Woolever; son, Dustin M. Woolever of Joplin; daughter, Danna K. Woolever of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter and light of his life, Danica Michelle Woolever of Joplin; sister, Tina Ruark and husband Joe of Joplin; brother-in-law, Jeff Neal and wife Carolina of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
