(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Michael Wayne Rowe, Sr., age 70, of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at his home. He was born August 24, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Arvil Wayne and Ethel (Garton) Rowe.
Michael was a 1969 graduate of Raytown South High School, in Raytown, Missouri and was a U.S. Army Veteran who served as a Green Beret during the Vietnam era. He was a graduate of Penn Valley Community College, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he received his associate degree in Fire Science and retired after 35 years as a fire fighter in Kansas City, Missouri.
On October 13, 1986, he married Elsie Mae Coursen, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Michael is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elsie; two daughters, Angela Jaeger and her husband, Dan, of Osceola, Missouri and Kristi Crane, of Texarkana, Texas; five sons, Scott Davis of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, William Gibson and his wife, Willow, of Carterville, Missouri, Michael Rowe, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Liberty, Missouri, Robert Rowe and his wife, Megan, of Kansas City, Missouri and Chris Rowe and his wife, Emily, of Aurora, Missouri; one sister, Sondra Rowe of Miller, Missouri and 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Ethel; one son, John Rowe; one sister, Glenda (Rowe) Hill and one granddaughter, Jessica Jaeger.
A visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Miller Memorial Gardens.
