(From Parker Mortuary)Joseph Mark Brooks was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 18, 1958 to James E. Brooks and Barbara L. Johnson. He passed away early on July 21, 2021 at age 62.
Joseph was a graduate of Carl Junction High School in 1977. He attended college in Texas.
Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Medical Corp for 20 years, retiring to Texas.
Joseph is survived by his parents, James and Lenetta Brooks, of Commerce, Oklahoma. He is survived by three sons, Mark Brooks and Mari of Rapid City, South Dakota, Robert Brooks of Bend, Texas, and John Brooks of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Colon Brooks and Lillian Brooks, of Rapid City, South Dakota.
He has surviving siblings, James and Ellen Brooks, of Crockett, Texas, Michael Brooks and Shiela of Arkansas, Wendy Johnston and Marvin of Joplin, Missouri, Laura Brooks of Neosho, Missouri, Phyllis Gatewood and James of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, and Ray Smith and Fusako of Knob Noster, Missouri. There are numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by one sister, Carla Brooks.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with services being held at a later date.
