(From McQueen Funeral Home)Daniel Paul Berndt of Rocky Comfort, MO was called to heaven, at the age of 58, from the Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO on August 2, 2021.
Born April 1, 1963 to Paul Julius Berndt and Nona Eilene (Capehart) Berndt in Colby, KS. Daniel began working on his family farm at a young age. Around age 12, he and his family moved to their new dairy farm in Vaughn, AR.
By age 15 he was also working in carpentry with his uncle and would later move on to start his career with Walmart starting in the fixture shop. From there he became a Fixture Supervisor that got to travel the United States setting up new and tearing down the old stores.
No matter where life took him, there were a few things that he loved more than anything in the world…the cattle farm that he bought and started in Rocky Comfort, MO and his family. He married the love of his life on June 13, 1988 and within a few years they had two lovely daughters.
Daniel had many hobbies throughout his life including woodworking, leather crafting, bee keeping, and raising a variety of plants. He was a well-loved man that brought joy to those around him and was always there if you needed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nona Berndt; his sister Glenda “Sue” Berndt and brother-in-law Mike Lingenfelter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dana Fay Berndt; his two daughters, Randi Fay Berndt and Samantha Danielle Berndt; his brother, Edward Berndt and his sister Betty Lingenfelter. He is also survived by many of his extended family and friends, including his best friend, Ronald Testerman.
Graveside services will be held at his final resting place in Owsley Union Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, MO (south of Stella) at 10:00 AM on August 12, 2021, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
