(From Parker Mortuary)Jeffrey Duane Pigg, age 56 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Plymouth, Indiana. Jeff was born May 27, 1967 in Joplin to the late Gary and Linda (Ferguson) Pigg.
After graduation, Jeff joined the Army and was stationed at various bases throughout his career. He served in the Persian Gulf, Bosnia, and Korea. He was a Sergeant and member of the 82nd Airborne.
After retirement from the military, Jeff started working in computer technology as a civilian contractor and in various IT jobs, earning many certifications. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed time at the gun range and lots of gaming.
Jeff is survived by his daughters, Amber Pigg and Brittany Pigg, both of Lockport, New York. Charessa Pigg of Plymouth, Indiana, and a granddaughter, Annalise. He is also survived by a sister, Shawna McDaniel and husband, Bob of Joplin; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. A committal of ashes will take place at a later date at the Springfield Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
