(From Parker Mortuary)Judy Faye Kay, age 76 of Joplin, Missouri, passed peacefully and on her own terms at Mercy Hospital in Joplin on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Judy was born October 9, 1946 in Granby, Missouri to the late Earl C. Marks and Frances C. (Cook) Marks. She lived between Missouri and California all of her life.
Judy owned and operated her own daycare for over 20 years and also worked for Montgomery Ward prior to that. She volunteered with the “We Care Food Pantry” and was attending Empire Mission Church in Galena, Kansas.
Those surviving Judy includes her son, Justin ‘K-9’ Kay of Loxley, Alabama; daughter, Tina Handley and husband, Michael of Grove, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Cody Langston, Devon England, Salina Hodges, Cannon Kay and Greg Waterman; five great grandchildren; her caretaker and long-time friend, Donna Gandy and a special dog, Baby Girl.
Other than her parents, Judy is preceded in death by husbands, Herman Kay, Jr. in 2007 and Cyril Klava in 2020; a grandson, Ashtin Langston; brothers, David, Larry and Darrell Marks and one sister, Ginger Hollis-Reeves.
Family will receive friends between the hours of 2:00pm-4:00pm on Monday, August 14th at Parker Mortuary. A committal of ashes will take place at a later date at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
