Allison Black

Allison Jean (Lee) Black, age 44, of Joplin, passed away on Thursday February 8, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1979, in Joplin, the daughter of Robert “Bo” Lee and Linda (Lyle) Lee. She has been a lifetime area resident.

Allison graduated from Joplin High School in 1998, where she was a varsity cheerleader and involved with show choirs and theatre productions. 








She received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and advertising from Oklahoma State University and obtained her law degree from the University of Oklahoma. She began her law career working with her father at Warten, Fisher, Lee & Brown Law Firm in Joplin. She also worked as a Trust Officer for US Bank. She was currently working as a realtor for Pro 100. She attended Hope City Church in Joplin, where she volunteered in the nursery during the morning services.

Allison loved going to the family lake home, at the “Lake of the Ozarks”. She enjoyed all types of water sports. She also loved the family trips to Florida, especially during spring break. Her greatest joy was being a mom to her beautiful daughters, Brooke and Kelsey. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She married Brad Black on December 31, 2023, in Joplin. They grew up as childhood neighbors and reconnected after many years. 

She is survived by her husband Brad Black, Joplin, MO; two daughters, Kelsey and Brooke Mardis, of the home; a stepson, Noah Black, of the home; her parents, Bo and Linda Lee, Joplin; her sister, Meredith Green and husband Jack; niece and nephew, Morgan and Owen Green, Norman, OK; her in-laws, Patty and Jerry Black, Joplin; her maternal grandmother, Jean Lyle, Overland Park, KS; sisters-in-law, Krissy Smith, Joplin, Kim Lane and husband Steve, Rogers, AR, and Kelly Cook, Joplin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved dearly and who loved her in return.








Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Church. Pastor Britton Fields will officiate. There will be a private, invitation-only Family Burial following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Joplin Human Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
