Frank Schmidt

Frank Richard Schmidt, age 83, of Webb City, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Frank was born January 24, 1941, to the late Frank Charles, SR. and Helen (Majdanewski) Schmidt in Chicago, Illinois. He married Beverley Lou (Gregory) Brannon in Bridgeview, Illinois on December 24, 1992. He worked as an Operations Supervisor for Yellow Freight in Chicago Ridge, IL retiring in August of 1999. 

After retiring Frank and Beverley moved to Joplin, MO where Frank later went to work for and retired from Wal Mart. Frank was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Beverley; one son: Frankie Schmidt (wife Leeann) of Pingree Grove, Illinois; stepsons: Gregory Simpson (wife Lisa) of Quapaw, Oklahoma, and Clayton Simpson (wife Shellie) of Benton, Arkansas; two daughters: Laurie Lee of Fairfield, Iowa, and Jennifer Wofford of Miami, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; and one sister.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in the Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery; Baxter Springs American Legion will provide Military Honors.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Springs, Kansas.
