(From Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home)Thomas Lee Thrasher, 72, of Aurora, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at his home.
The son of Floyd “Rufus” and Leta (Couch) Thrasher. He was born June 2, 1951, in Kirksville, Missouri. On February 24, 1973, Tom was united in marriage to Sandra Morehouse in Bible Grove, Missouri. They were blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd, and Leta Thrasher.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sandra, and six children, Traci Thrasher of Seneca, Missouri, Scott (Denise) Thrasher of Monett, Missouri, Terri (John) Miller of Neosho, Missouri, Tammi Bassett of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Brett Thrasher of Neosho, Missouri, and Courtney (Ethan) Moffitt of Ankeny, Iowa. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Reese Bassett of Aurora, Missouri, Ethan Bassett and Adeline Bassett of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Landon Thrasher and Alaina Thrasher of Monett, Missouri, and Eli Miller of Neosho, Missouri as well as one brother, Ted (Julia) Thrasher of Olathe, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca (Daniel Zungura) Carameros of Aurora, Missouri, and Mary Lee Morehouse of Canyon Lake, Texas; one nephew, Trent (Leah) Thrasher of Big Spring, Texas, and one niece, Leah Smith of Overland Park, Kansas.
Tom was a graduate of Scotland R-I High School in Memphis, Missouri. Tom and Sandra owned and operated a grade A dairy farm in Scotland County, Missouri. Later, Tom owned and operated a successful fencing and deck business. Tom always took pride in his work and wanted to make sure each job was done right.
He was a faithful member of the Aurora church of Christ. He loved God, his church family, and teaching youth Bible class.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Aurora church of Christ in Aurora, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday, February 12, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri. Interment will follow the service at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
