Vickie Goodnight

Vickie Lynn Powell Goodnight was born on August 28, 1959, in Granby, Missouri, one of eight children to Payton Montgomery and Edith Bell (Clark) Powell. She entered into rest on February 9, 2024, at her home in Granby, following a short illness, at the age of 64. 

Vickie was a lifelong area resident, a graduate of East Newton High School and Crowder College Nursing in 2013. She worked as a registered nurse at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri and at Lacoba Nursing home in Monett, Missouri. 








She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, finding a ‘good’ deal and caring for others. Her life’s greatest joy was her two grandchildren. Vickie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Granby. 

On July 30, 2004, in Neosho, Missouri, Vickie married Calvin Goodnight, who survives. 

In addition to her husband, Vickie is survived by two children, Kerri Fort and husband, Josh of Neosho, Missouri and Seth Richardson of Granby, Missouri; two grandchildren, Avery Willis and finance’, Michael Buck and Kamdyn Fort; siblings, Chris Powell and wife, Judy of Granby, Missouri, Debbie Blaylock of Exeter, Missouri and Sharon Mosley and husband, Lary of Monett, Missouri. 








She is preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Richardson, her parents, two sisters, Louise Lynch and Carolyn Cook and two brothers, Stanley Powell and Jack Powell. 

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Pastor Russ Johnson will officiate. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home until 11:30 am.
