Carolyn Cook

Carolyn Joyce Cook, 89, passed away at 8:47 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at her residence with her daughters by her side. 

The oldest of eight children, she was born on July 17, 1935, in Joplin, Mo, the daughter of the late Ira and Lelia (Brewer) Wolfe. She married Clarence "Dale" Cook on December 29, 1966, and he preceded her in death. 






Survivors include two daughters, Anne Cook of Bethalto, Piper Cook Busse of North Fort Myers, FL; a grandson, Blake (Erin) Busse; three great grandchildren, Blake, Knox, and Eve Busse; two sisters and a brother in law, Jane and Steve Mitchell of Carl Junction, MO, Sandy Burk of Carl Junction, MO; three brothers and two sisters in law, Jim Wolfe of Carl Junction, MO, Ed and Tillie Wolfe of Joplin, MO, Jeff and Cecilia Wolfe of Greece; many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Carolyn was formerly employed at Owens - Illinois Glass Works. She was a fifty year member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. Carolyn and Dale loved the theater and were volunteer ushers at the Fox Theater. She also volunteered at Caravan. Carolyn and Dale also traveled extensively in the United States as well as Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Paris, France.








In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Erwin and a brother, Stanly Wolfe.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private ceremony for Carolyn and Dale will be held in the Gulf of Mexico.
