Norman Fretwell

Norman E. Fretwell, Esq., 80, of Parkville, MO died February 25, 2025 after a brief illness.

Norm was born in Joplin, MO to Delmar and Louise Fretwell. Following high school graduation, he received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. He graduated in 1966 as First Captain and President of his class. He served as a Platoon Commander in the jungles of Viet Nam and subsequently as a General’s Aide in Berlin.








Following service to the country, he graduated from Michigan Law School and became partner in prestigious law firms in Kansas City, most recently Spencer Fane, where he built the firm’s Financial Services division. He served on a number of organization boards including the Civic Council, Area Development Council, Kansas City Club, Heartland’s School of Reading, Boys State among them.

He leaves his wife Beverly Haskins, daughter Jami Osbern (Kevin), brother John Fretwell of Joplin, stepson Brett Rosenberg (Adrea Lawrence) and grandchildren Reid and Evelyn of Missoula, MT, niece Krista Fretwell, and Boo-boo, the cat he loved in spite of himself and a host of colleagues, friends, and fellow duck hunters.







He leaves his wife Beverly Haskins, daughter Jami Osbern (Kevin), brother John Fretwell of Joplin, stepson Brett Rosenberg (Adrea Lawrence) and grandchildren Reid and Evelyn of Missoula, MT, niece Krista Fretwell and a host of colleagues, friends, and fellow duck hunters.

Cremation has been entrusted with Meyers Northland Chapel. Private burial at West Point, NY. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org; NorthCare Hospice House or charity of your choice.
