Alice Law

Alice B. Law, 84, Carthage, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO.

 Alice Belle Benschoter was born September 25, 1929 in Hay Springs, Nebraska, a daughter of the late William George Benschoter and Lula Belle (Lofholm) Benschoter.  She attended public schools in Loup City, NE and was a graduate of Loup City High School, Class of 1947.  She married Charles C. Law on November 26, 1949; he preceded her in death on August 22, 1987.  Alice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carthage, where she served as an Elder, Deacon and served on the Presbyterian Women’s group. She also was a member of the Missouri Extension Club.

Survivors include a daughter; Susan Law, Carthage; two sons, Patrick (Robin) Law, Carthage and Kelly (Jennifer) Law, Carthage; one brother, William Benschoter, Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Randall and Michael Law; one brother.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 24 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage.  Graveside services will follow in Fasken Cemetery, NE of Carthage.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, 115 W.
