Dorothy Elizabeth Nichols age 55 of Anderson, Mo. passed away Friday August 29, 2014 surrounded by family members.
She was born March 14, 1959 in Hobbs, New Mexico to George and Dorothy Webb Battey. Dorothy was a homemaker and she and her family have lived in the Anderson, Mo. area for the past 18 years. She attended Leawood Church of Christ. She loved to quilt and crochet. She was active with the Neosho, Mo chapter of Project Linus.
She married Brad Nichols on December 25, 1982 in Tulsa, Ok and he survives. She is also survived by two sons; David Neal Nichols, Jason Lee Nichols, one daughter Carlene Nichols, one brother; George Battey and his wife Peggy, Seminole, Ok, and a sister Irene Sanders, Lubbock, Tx.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the Mason-Woodard chapel with Brett Hickey and George Battey officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Project Linus or the American Breast Cancer Association. Contributions may to mailed or delivered to Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
