Anna Marie Strand was born on July 12, 1933 to Hans and Katherine Hanson near Langford SD, and departed this life on September 22, 2014 in Carthage, Missouri.
Anna was joined in marriage to Duane Strand on November 11, 1931 and together they raised 4 children, enjoyed a large extended family, and accumulated numerous friends. After marriage, Anna and Duane live 15 years in Aberdeen, SD where Anna was a homemaker and made that home a place where everyone was welcome, comfortable and loved. After retiring from the resort, they continued to live on Roy Lake for 8 years, spending winters in their RV in Texas where they made numerous friends. The next 6 years were spent back in Langford where both Anna and Duane were born. In 2008 Duane and Anna left South Dakota once again, and moved to rural Carthage Missouri to be near their youngest two daughters. Though Anna’s health was deteriorating, she still enjoyed church, Jolli Neighbors Extension Club, playing cards, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
