Betty Sweet, 82, lifetime Carthage resident, passed away at 1:02 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
She was born on December 22, 1931 to Herbert and Edith (Coose) Parker in Thayer, Missouri. Betty worked at Big Smith Manufacturing until 1983. She then became co-owner of Oran Sweet Oil Co and retired in 1990. Betty was a member of the Carthage Restoration Branch.
Betty married Oran Sweet on April 15, 1955 in Carthage Missouri. He preceded her in death in 2008. Betty is survived by one son Dan Sweet and wife Gay of California, Missouri, one daughter Karen Lambeth and husband Richard of Carthage, one sister Juanita Bunch of Carthage, four grandchildren Dana Sweet, Kevin Sweet, Rachelle Lambeth, and Chris Lambeth, and one great grandson Gabrina. She is preceded by her parents and husband.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Park Cemetery. Online Condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
