Charles E. Ball, age 84 of Jasper, Mo. passed away September 22, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
He was born April 12, 1930 in Jasper County, MO. to Charles J. and Sylvia Flournoy Ball. He was a retired farmer. Charles served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning a Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Campaign Stars. He was a lifetime member of the Jasper V.F.W. post.
Charles was united in marriage to Reba Berryhill on November 15, 1953 at the Jasper Christian Church, she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Dianna Probert (Ben), three sons, Danny (Lori), Doug (Susan), Darrel (Lana) all of Jasper. Eight Grandchildren, Russell, Renea, Sasha, Leighton, Gary, Mathew, Travis, and Jared. Eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Tom Ball, John Ball, Richard Ball, and Walter Ball. Four sisters, Martha Brown, Margaret Sansom, Charlotte Ball, and Barbara Winders. Charles enjoyed farming, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper MO.. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Waters Cemetery n.w. of Jasper.
