Cleo House

Cleo Lee House, Jr.,Neosho, died Aug. 31, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, following an illness. 

He is survived by his precious wife of 55 years, JoAnn House and their four children, daughter, Tracy and son in law, Dominic Tascarella; daughter, Kerri and son in law, George Mustard; son, Cleo Lee House, III and daughter in law, Jolene; son, Vincent Lloyd House and daughter in law, Darla; stepson, Mark Paine and wife, Denise and brother, Wayne House, Sr. and wife, Phyllis; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ when he was 12 years old and accompanied his uncle as he preached in city missions.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Lee House, Sr. and Faye Levina House, his brothers, Curtis and Dennis House, grandson, Jesse Clanton and nephew, Wayne House, II. He attended Neosho High School, where he met and married his sweetheart, JoAnn. They moved to California where they lived and raised their family for 16 years. He made carpentry and construction his career and joined the local Carpenter’s Union. He became a superintendent and oversaw many large projects. He moved back to Neosho in 1976, where he built our family home. He remained a Union Superintendent and worked out of Local 311 for R. E. Smith and Dalton Killinger Construction Companies. He supervised many large projects, such as Freeman Hospital, Cottey College, Missouri Southern, Webb City Schools and the Joplin Library. 

He retired from the Union in 2001 and spent all of his time with his family. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He made his home and property a place for his family and friends to enjoy. He worked hard, played hard and loved much. He never met a stranger. He was the world’s greatest father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his life.
