Mickey Green

Mickey Richard Green, age 72, of Carterville, Mo. passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at his home following an extended illness.

 Mickey was born to James Albert and Mary Kathryn (Brummett) Green December 1, 1941 in Edna, Ok. Mickey Married Brinda L. Shields on June 12 1963 in Ceres, Caifornia. He had lived in the Carterville-Joplin area since 1989, moving here from Sonora, Ca. lMickey was an Inspector with the Clark Pest Control Co. in Sonora and Modesto, Ca.. He previously worked for the Gallo Winery in Modesto. He was also a Master Carpenter by trade. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mickey was an artist, specializing in nature scenes. In Modesto Mickey had studied psychology in college. He was a member of the Sonora, Ca. Baptist Church and attended the Oak Street Assembly of God in Carthage, Mo. 

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard C. Green, three brothers, Lawrence, Jerry, James and one sister, Georgia Hale. Survivors include is his wife Brinda, two daughters, Elizabeth Lackey, Carterville, and Michelle Rodelander, Carthage, Mo., two sisters, Kathryn Elwess, Webb City, Mo. and Patricia Burke, Spokane, Wa., eight grandchildren, Chadd Green and wife Jennifer Miller, Robert Domanski, Travis Domanski, Ashlynn Green, Clayton Lackey, Silas Lackey Austin Lackey, and Amanda Lortz, and. two great grandchildren, Braidden Green and Abbigail Green.

 Mickey’s wishes were to be cremated. Private burial of ashes will be in the Fidelity cemetery with Military Honors provided.

 Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory, Joplin, Mo.
