Pamela Jane Boyd Clifton, age 48 of Joplin, MO passed away peacefully at 5:02 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home, surrounded by family and friends. She fought a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer.
Born September 26, 1966 in Tulsa, OK, she attended Jenks High School and graduated in 1985 from Bixby High School. She lived in Joplin since 2007, moving from Tulsa, where she previously worked at Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. She was most recently the receptionist for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Joplin. Pam was an extremely dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and had a great love for animals.
She married Rick Clifton on February 3, 2007 in Tulsa. Pamela is survived by her husband Rick, the love of her life. Additional survivors include son, Joel Armstrong of Joplin, MO; daughter, Sierra Armstrong of Broken Arrow, OK; her father and stepmother, Wallace and Robin Boyd of Bristow, OK; her mother, Brenda Cox of Tulsa; OK; her siblings, Gina Boyd Wessels of Tulsa, OK; Ryan Cox of Broken Arrow, OK; David Shoaf of Sapulpa, OK; Charlotte Francis of Sapulpa, OK; Melissa Jandebeur of Tulsa, OK; Christopher Shoaf of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as her beloved dogs, Louie and Toots.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m., St. Paul’s United Methodist Church located at 2423 W. 26th St in Joplin, MO with Rev. Aaron Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Cox, David Shoaf, Christopher Shoaf, Jim Wary, Roger Atkisson and John Goswick. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary located at 1502 S. Joplin Ave, Joplin, MO on Wednesday, October 1 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Bristow, Ok, City Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church for a future memorial in Pam’s honor.
