Barbara Jean Hunt, age 77 of Webb City, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family.
Barbara was born January 29, 1937 to the late Chester Carl and Neva May Paulis Smith in Joplin, Missouri where she has lived nearly all her life. Barbara worked in sales for many retail shops around the area. She also worked for Pillsbury for several years and most recently for the Webb City Library for the last 12 years.
She married Floyd Paul Hunt on December 12, 1959 in Joplin and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1987. Also preceding her in death is her sister, Wanda Gooch; brothers, Carl Smith, J.D. Smith, Bobby Gatewood and one granddaughter, Lanna Bachler.
Survivors include one son, Robin Rager of Webb City; daughters, Regina Day of Gilbert, Arizona, Rene' Day and husband Jim of Joplin; brother, Mike Smith and wife Linda of Carterville.
Services are planned for Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Forest Park Cemetery following the service. Family will receive friends at the mortuary Thursday from 6-7:00 PM.
She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
Service arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
