Mr. William “Bill” Landsaw, 72, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, after months of declining health.
Bill entered this life on April 17, 1942, in Joplin, Missouri, son of the late William and Mildred (Lawrence) Landsaw. Bill enjoyed his time as a state officer and spent his later years as an entrepreneur. He enjoyed fishing, westerns, Chiefs football, attending auctions, bowling and spending time with his family. He loved meeting people and never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Landsaw; four children, Bill Landsaw (Renee), Peggy Steppe (Doug), Gail Thomas (Dru) and Dawn Smith (Mike); seven grandchildren, Mark Thornton (Leanna), Jennifer Lee, Grant Thomas, Ashley Feingold (Justin), Austin Smith, Megan and Emily Landsaw; seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Steven, Cole, Taylor, Evan, Abbigail and Gavin; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, in the Chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 6-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the mortuary.
