Shelley Ann Vandaveer Myers, age 60 of Carl Junction, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 29, 2014 following a brief illness.
Shelly was born on November 23, 1953 to William and Donna Vandaveer in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a homemaker.
On June 24, 1976, Shelly married Ronald Myers in Independence, MO. He survives of the home after 38 years of marriage.
Additional survivors include a grandson, Zaiden, age 7 of the home; daughter, Jill Tauiliili and husband Soffo of Independence, MO; her parents of Independence, MO; sister, Debra Brady and husband Dan of Lebanon, MO and their married children, David Brady and wife Darcie and their two sons, Mac and Gus; niece, Donna Boyd and husband Mike and their son Liam, all of St. Louis; step-daughter, Julie Gardecki and husband Gary and their two children, Madison and Samantha of Las Vegas, Nevada; many aunts, uncles and extended family.
During her married life, Shelly has lived in Dallas, TX; Roswell, NM; Wichita Falls, TX; Joplin and Carl Junction. Shelly enjoyed yoga, pilates, her book club, bowling and various arts and crafts with her girlfriend of 32 years. The love of her life was her grandson, Zaiden. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Ozark Memorial Cemetery in Joplin with Pastor Bruce Jacobs officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
