W.T. "Bud" Naylor, age 82 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 after an extended illness at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galena, Kansas.
Bud was born December 5, 1931 to the late Marvin and Katie Lucille Mullenax Naylor in Conway, Arkansas. He only finished part of schooling when he had his mother sign his way into the Army, lying about his age to do so. He served our country during Korean War as an ambulance driver for M.A.S.H units. Bud also worked as a dispatcher for 408 Cab Co and the Joplin Police Department where he retired after 28 years of distinguished service to the city. The city later named the dispatch office the "Beverly Jones and W.T. Naylor Communications Center".
On March 24, 1951, Bud married Norma J. Griffis in Joplin. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2013.
Survivors include one daughter, Kristine Allen and husband James of Webb City; two grandsons, Joshua and Samuel Allen; great-grandson, Aaron Allen; one sister, Nancy Naylor of Colorado and many extended family.
Services are planned for Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Parker Mortuary. Family will receive friends Friday at 1:00 P.M. up to service time. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
