Charlene Louise Smith, age 27, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Freeman Hospital after an extended illness.
Charlene was born April 24, 1987 to Charles J. Smith Jr. and Ella Carmen Smith in Joplin. She attended the Joplin schools and has lived in the area all her life. She was a homemaker.
Charlene is survived by her mother, Ella Smith of Joplin; four children, Kimberly, Isaiah, Elijah and Josiah, all of Joplin; sister, Melissa Kessinger of Joplin; father of her children, Bobby King; James Ground, who has helped raise Charlene since 8 years old; many extended family and friends that will all miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles J. Smith Jr. and her grandparents.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. No service are planned at this time.
