David “Fred” Campbell, 81, passed away in Carthage Missouri, September 9, 2014.
Fred was born in Sarcoxie, MO to Roscoe Campbell and Daisy “Morton” Campbell. Fred served in the United States Air Force for 12 years and the Army National Guard for 9 years. Fred was a longtime Carthage resident and was a purchasing agent at Car-Mar in Carthage. Fred was a member and a past master of the A.F. & A.M. 197 of Carthage, and a past worthy patron of Eminence Chapter # 93 of Carthage. Fred was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church.
Fred was united in marriage to Opal F. Brooks March 1, 1957 at Craig Air Force Base Selma, Alabama, she survives. Fred is survived by two sons Derik Campbell and wife Melinda of Joplin, MO and David Campbell and wife Starla of Weddington, NC, five grandchildren Kelsey Charles (Christopher), Greyson, Trevor, Clara, and Madeline Campbell, one brother Bill Campbell (Jean) of LaRussell, MO, one sister-in-law Sue Campbell of Fresno, CA, one brother-in-law Lew Brooks (Amy) of Carthage, MO. Fred is preceded by his parents, four brothers Ralph, Talmage, Bob, and Bruce.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m.Saturday September 13, 2014 at Grace Episcopal Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rights beginning at 6:00 p.m., Friday September 12, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery Carthage, MO. Contributions can be made to the Masonic Lodge Building fund or Grace Episcopal Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
