Carol Ann Howell, age 76 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Freeman Hospital after an extended illness.
Carol was born July 18, 1938 to the late Robert L. and Myrtle G. Hudson Hankins in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was a bookkeeper for many lumber companies in the area including Midway Lumber for over 20 years. Carol was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin.
On May 13, 1995 she married Warren F. Howell, Sr. in Joplin. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include sons, Nicholas Crim and wife Lisette of Breda, Holland, Robert Crim of Joplin; daughter, Barbara Swanson and husband Brett of Lenexa, Kansas; step-sons, Frank Howell Jr. and wife Cyndie of Carl Junction, Danny Howell of Joplin; step-daughter, Sherry Howell of Joplin; sisters, Shirley Williams of Broken Arrow, OK., Pat Langley of Norman, OK; brother, Bob Hankins and wife Susan of Chickasha, OK; 4 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Pace.
Funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin. The visitation with friends and family will be held Monday from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
